Dilma Rousseff, the first female president of Brazil, was inaugurated last week with very mixed feelings. In a historic election, she was swept into office due in large part to her charisma, popularity, and promises to expand government to improve the lives of the people. Ranked by Forbes as the 16th most powerful person in the world now, the next four years will show what impact this former Marxist will have on Brazil and the rest of the world.
